I want to congratulate you on taking action. You have decided that your current status quo is not cutting it anymore and you’re going to do something about it.
We all have our reasons. For some, it’s a waistline that keeps doing its own thing, expanding over the belt. For others, it’s a break-up and the secret wish that the ex does a double-take when she sees you without a shirt on. Whatever the reason, know that by addressing your physical make-up, you are not only doing a physical re-set but a mental one as well. They say that our emotions create our thoughts, which create our actions. I’d like to take it a little further and say that our thoughts emanate from our physiology.
When you’re feeling unattractive, you are probably prone to thinking “fat” thoughts which will eventually lead you back onto the well-trodden path to the fridge and self-loathing. The fitness industry is lambasted by thousands of people who claim to have found “the path”.
How can I be so sure? – I’ve been my own personal guinea pig for over 3 decades and have made many mistakes. Every now and again I do something right, and add it to my arsenal. I am not a personal trainer, but I consult people all over the world, some of whom are professional bodybuilders and body styling champions. I have worked with ex Springbok rugby players and Wimbledon tennis stars and yes, I have worked with my neighbor too.
So without worrying that I’m going to condemn you to years of eating raw cabbage and egg whites, I’d like to explain the overriding ethos of the Thorfit system.
– Think about that for a minute. We’re either growing or dying. – meaning that whatever you do, is either expanding you or contacting you. It’s either good for you, or if it does not serve you, it will draw you away from your chosen path. It’s easy to say that you want to find your abs again, but if you choose the lift to get to your office, instead of taking the stairs, you’re not advancing towards your goal. Even moving to work can either support your goals, or it can detract from your goals.
Some of you are covering your ears and assuming a fetal position, imagining that you’re going to have to sign up for military school if you’re ever going to put enough distance between yourself and the refrigerator where all the beers are kept but fear not. You see, “everything is everything” works the other way around as well.
Small changes, applied to the selected areas of your life can have a compounding effect.
